Brakes problem
1999 Dodge Durango V8 Automatic

i have a 99 dodge durango. i recently replaced the hub, brake pads, and rotors. it was having a grinding sound from the front drivers side wheel, being the reason for the recent work. the sound did not go away, in fact it is now worse than ever. it seems the sound goes away at higher speeds...somewhere between 30 and 40 mph. it also stops when the brakes are slightly pressed. when doing the brakes, i noticed the caliper has a wobble to it. i know some movement is normal, but this seems excessive to me. while doing the brakes, the slide pins kept wanting to cross thread, and may be partially stripped now. could the grinding be too much play in the caliper? i'm wondering if the caliper is releasing too much, or maybe the pins need re-threaded.

If the caliper has come loose because the threads are stripped, the caliper could hit the wheel, the rotor... Make sure it is tight. If it isn't, they make a self taping replacement bolt that can be used.

Let me know.
