I never had a starting problem until one evening when I left my lights on overnight. The next morning when I realized that my battery has died I decided to use my AC Battery charger to jump my truck. It worked and the truck drove fine and it never stalled. However, the next following morning I barely was able to start my truck. When the truck is running my volt meter stays at a 14 volt reading and does not stall. I know my battery is not fully recharging but I do not think it is the alternator because the truck does not stall when it runs. Could I have damaged the volt regulator or maybe need to replace my battery or maybe both? Thanks!

Hi there,

Have the battery fully charged and have it load tested, this is the only true test for battery condition, start here.
