I would have it towed to prevent further damage, to a transmission shop or dealer. Either Transfer Case seized, or rear end somewhere has seized. Other cause might be a rear wheel bearing-hub seized also. These diagnosts need to be done by a professional auto technician. I own a 99 durango and I have heard stories of this happening before at our shop. The rear Differential seizes which causes the whole rear end to act strange and sound like a freight train in the rear end.
