Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Dodge Durango V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 190k miles

I have a 98 durango with the 5.2 and it runs great but i am seeing quite a bit of oil spotting in my garage. i think the rear main seal is failing? I am running 5w30 synthetic. My questions is what is going to be involved in replacing the rear main seal? Just pulling the tranny, transfer case and oil pan? OR am i gonna have to jack the motor up? Thanks Eric

You need to lift the engine to remove the oil pan. You should be able to do it by unbolting the motor mounts and lifting the engine in the vehicle.
