I just finished changing out the transmission fluid, filter, gasket. Added 2 quarts of Castrol ATF 4 fluid. I start my truck and sounds ok. But when I go to drive it jumps and sounds muffled. Is this normal, safe, and what should I do? Im really nervous

Ok listen, if you removed all the fluid from the vehicle, changed the filter and gasket, and only put two quarts back in, do not drive it, that vehicle needs at least six more quarts of fluid, I will have to find out exactly how much, if you drive it anymore you will damage it, thats why its doing what its doing, jumping and stuff. It doesnt have enough fluid.

Ok, so I added more fluid. It's at where it should be, and I took it for a drive and the rpm jumps a little, smells like something is burning and see a little smoke coming from under the hood of the truck. My brother in law says that it feels like it could be slipping. Im all out of ideas. Do u have any thoughts or suggestions on this?

The smoke is probably some spilled on the block or something, I just hope it wasnt ruined. Just make sure the fluid is right, and give it a couple of days, dont beat on it, theres al ot of intricate little gooves in the tranny and transaxle, let it work itself in there.

Is their anything that I can do throughout the days? Should I turn it on and let the engine run or drive it around the block?
Or should I just leave it alone for a few days?

Yeah I would drive it, but take it easy, every once and a while go thru the gears, like at a red light, start at first, then go to second and to dirve. Let it get a work out but dont kill it, dive it normal for a couple of days and see how it goes
