Heater core

1992 Dodge Dakota, 3.9 ltr, 125,000 miles,

Is there a valve or something underneath the heater housing to adjust the flow of water going through the heater core? If not, can I disconnect both hoses going in and blow it out with air? If not, are there any diagrams showing the easiest way to remove the heater core without taking out the dash?
Thank you,
Larry
PS. I would donate, but heater core, water pump, and the sub-zero temp here has cost me every dime I got. I will get you next time.

At times you can get away with just disconnecting the hose going to the heater core and backflushing the system a couple of times each way. When a heater core gets clogged up when you back flush it
cleans it out. Use water instead of air, it works better.
