Hi, I have a 99 Dodge Dakota 4x4 V6. I replaced the front pads and rotors. Now after the truck is driven for a few miles and warms up the front end makes a growling/grinding noise. When I press the brake it goes away. However when I take my foot off the brake to take off it is at its worst. I can then drive a few hundred feet and it will fade away untill I press the brakes again, and then accelerate. The noise goes away whenever I press the brake even if I press it ever so slightly. Thanks any insite will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

It sounds like the brake pads might be grinding against the rotors. This could be due to a sticking caliper, which is not releasing the pads all the way or a loose pad that is rubbing against the rotor.

You will have to do an inspection of the brake to see what might be going on.
If the caliper is sticking you will have a noticeable temperature difference between the sticking and non-sticking side after driving the vehicle for a while.
The temperature can be checked with an infrared thermometer.

A brake caliper can stick due to a faulty piston of the caliper or due to a collapsed brake hose that is not allowing brake fluid to retreat when brake pedal is released.

Please let me know your findings.
Thank you.
