2005 Dodge Dakota steering feels stiff

Steering problem
2005 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Automatic 35000 miles

the steering feels when your driving ,not all the time .just every now and then. If i take off the cap from the pump and turn the wheel from lock to lock 10 or 12 times it goes away for a while

Hi:
When you turn the steering left to right with the engine off, basically you are bleeding the system. Thus, I believe you are getting air in the system. Do you have any leaks?
