Good morning.
I have a 2003 Dakota pickup that feels like the steering is getting a bit loose. I had the suspension looked at and replaced the tie rod but still not fixed. When I hit some bumps in the road, it feels like the steering column is moving slightly. Is there a bushing or something in the steering column that wears out?

thanks for your help

The steering shaft is a two-piece collapsible unit that get sloppy. The new shaft will be very sloppy until it is extended to the installed position. I've heard of people making a shim out of brass stock but never tried it myself.
