2003 Dodge Dakota light warning

How do I shut off the warring light for emission, think it has to do with running out of gas, after which, the light came on and stayed on.

Hello,

I would first have codes pulled just to make sure. Your local parts store will usually do it free. They can also erase the codes. Do Not Disconnect Battery to erase code. Can cause Voltage Spike and Fry Main Computer.
