2003 Dodge Dakota heater does not work

It started when the heat or a/c for that matter stopped working on the low setting on the control switch, then it stopped working on the medium setting and finally stopped working all together. I have already changed the blower motor thinking that was the problem and apparently it wasn't. I was told it might be the control switch I'm not sure what the problem could be.

check blower motor resister
check fuses and relay (under hood power box)
