2002 Dodge Dakota instument panel lights.

When I start my dakota the air bag, engine and abs lights don't always go off. When these lights are on my speedometer doesn't work. When the lights go off the speedometer works again.

The dash works off a electric circuit board. It sounds like there is damage that has occurred to that board causing a short. Chances are you will need to replace it.
