2002 Dodge Dakota Fan does not operate on high

My switch for the A/C and heater has 4 settings but last summer has quit working for the high setting. For both the A/C and Heater, the switch works fine in the first 3 positions. After it quit, it started working again for a short period of time and then went out again. Thank you for any info you have on this matter.
