my truck idles rough for the first few minutes and even when you go to accellerate it still backfires. you have to put the truck to the floor for it to take off. i have taken it to 3 garages and they cannot find any codes or anything else wrong with it. i have tried changing numerous amounts of sensors that could cause the problem but no luck yet. just wondering it anyone else had this problem with their dakota or ram.

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic w/ the inline 6 that has sounds like it has similar issues, I am stumped. When you start it up, for approx 5 min. the vehicle intermittently sputters and sounds like it is backfiring through the intake, flooring the gas seems to snap it out of it. After approx. 5 min. the problem goes away. If you find a solution please let me know
