1998 Dodge Dakota ROUGH IDLE

When the engine sits in idle for a period of time, engine starts idleing real rough. Sometimes engine light comes on. I took it to checker auto to have them check the codes, comes up as #6 miss-fire, its been tuned up and all fluid levels are ok. Also took to a repair shop they couldnt find the problem, im just woudering if it could be maybe the IAC emissions canister, how do I test them?

Hello,

Did they change the plug wires? If not try moving the one off the #6 cylinder to another cylinder. If miss moves to other cylinder replace wires.

Also remove and clean the Idle Air Control Valve.
