Guys,
I have a 2001 Dakota that has an RPM surge at highway speeds. It seems to be only around 200 - 300 RPM but is very irritating. The dealer told me once that it had to do with a solenoid which interfaced between the ABS and the cruise control but it also does this when the cruise is off. Can you help?

Usually it turns out to be a slight malfunction not detected by the PCM, in either the EGR or the MAF. Try cleaning out the EGR and the port under it, all the way to the throttle, and cleaning or replacing the MAF. Clean out the throttle with throttle body cleaner.
