i can't turn the key in the ignition, and the steering whell is unlocked, what can i do to get the key to turn so that i can start my truck

Hi:
Don't laugh, but did you try a different key for the truck? I have actually seen keys wear so badly, they no longer work. If you have tried this, it sounds like the tumblers inside have worn out or are damaged. You will most likely need to call a locksmith to have it replaced, or towed to a shop. Don't be overly concerned. It shouldn't be too expensive.
Let me know the outcome.
