my dodge is developing a rough idle at times and its also putting out a lot of black smoke when it does

Hi there,

The black smoke is excess fuel, the rough idle is the engine struggling with the excessive fuel load, you may have a leaking injector causing this problem, often a on car injection clean can fix this or at least prove that there is a faulty injector that need investigating, start here.
