Electrical problem
1999 Dodge Dakota Two Wheel Drive Automatic 134000 miles

Turn signal sometimes work and sometimes they do not work. Besides, the left turn signal blinks normal whereas the right turn signal blinks very rapidly. Any suggestions?

Is the Turn Signal Flasher Relay under the dash in the cab driver side or the passanger side? Thank you.

When the signal flashes fast, are both front and rear lights flashing fast?

I have solved the problem.

The turn signal/Hazard Flasher relay with 5 pins had one pin coroded. I simpally lighlty filed the pin with a fine (120 grit) sans paper, wiped it clean with vinegar and then with a clean rag. Re-installed it back.

It works like a charm. Saved $13.00 for a new relay. Thank you.

Thats what I like to hear. Glad you got it fixed. I have had people with similar problems. THey had a fast flasher which usually indicates a burnt bulb, but both front and rear were blinking fast. If that happens to you, remember, there are two bulbs for both front lights. If one goes bad or looses connection, it will flash really fast, but the other bulb will trick you into thinking nothing is burned out.

Good luck and let us know if you have questions in the future.

Joe
