I just purchased a 1999 dodge dakota. Everything was running fine. Then I noticed the oil pressure gauge was fluctuating. It will go from about 80psi or so when it started then drop down to about 20 psi while driving. Im losing oil fairly quick but im not seeing any oil spots on the ground. I was told my gaskets and valves could be dry and to put some oil treatment in to help loosen them up but nothing has changed. My exhaust is blackening the side of my truck. Ive had a oil change and all that but it still runs the same? Any ideas?

With only 95K on it, that shouldn't be happening unless it was abused. What I want you to check is this. Remove the oil dipstick and see if you smell fuel in the oil. Also, let me know how much oil per mile you are using.

When you say the side of the truck is turning black, is there blue smoke coming out the exhaust?
