Well driving my 99 Dodge 2wd v8 Dakota it will die with no spurting. I get a check bus message in the mileage window along with a check engine. The truck will sit on the side of the road and turn over but not start. After 10 minutes or so it will start up like nothing happened. I replaced the ECM. The truck died again after replacing the ECM. The check bus light went away and now it restarts right after it dies. Any idea what is causing the truck to just shut down.

The no bus indicates the computer is loosing connection with its components. Make sure there are no loose wire around it and check for corrosion.

Let me know what you find.
