Engine Performance problem
1998 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

the number 2 cly keeps mis-fireing i replaced plugs wires cap rotor checked all vac lines fule filters im stumped please help.

Maybe its time to find out if the cylinder has a bad injector or some kind of mechanical problem. It may be best to take a compression test of the engine, each cylinder should have a fairly even amount of compression, we always pulled the plugs and felt it with our fingers just to be sure there was any at all. I don't recommend doing it like that. They sell a nice cheap compression tester here at the store. See if swapping an injector helps, also and the injector driver is in the computer. If it is not the engine's cylinder or injector, take the codes out of the powertrain control module using an engine scan tool. It will help you determine if you have an unusual electrical or sensor problem. I hope I have helped in some small way. ok
