1998 Dodge Dakota Cruise Control light intermittant

Hey guys, my 98 Dodge Dakota has treated me very well over the years but one thing is bothering me. When I turn on the Cruise Control, most of the time the light does not illuminate. The 1st funny thing is, the cruise works just fine when I set the speed. The 2nd funny thing, as I'm driving down the road in cruise, sometimes the light will come on. Not always, though. Do I have something to be concerned about here or can I just shrug it off as I have been?

Hi:
Based on how long the problem has been going on for you, I wouldn't worry about. The light may not be making a good connection for some reason, or the socket may be the problem.

If you want to fix it, you will most likely need to remove the insturment panel. Before that look under the dask fo loose or broken connections going to the insturment panel.
