If am driving the car and whenever that I brake the engine will short off and it will take a while to start again.

Suspect IAC valve
Check for vacuum leaks
Check and clean IAC and throttle body
Check if holding the gas paddle down raising the RPM help and if so suspect and IAC and or vacuum leak
check for codes if any
