1997 Dodge Dakota Starts Won't Idle

My lights were left on last night and this morning I woke up to go to work and it wouldn't start. I had a friend come jump it off, and it started but it wouldn't idle or stay on without me keeping down the gas.

Was the battery completely dead? Try giving the battery a full charge. Many vehicles depend on power from the battery to continue running after started. If it's too low, that may be your problem.
