DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST.
The fuel tank is held in by two steel straps. On each strap there is a bolt that will need removed. Keep in mind, if there is fuel in the tank, it will be difficult to hold on to and heavy. Next, open the fuel door and you will see three screws that hold the filler neck to the truck bed. Remove them before removeing the straps. When the straps are removed, the tank will come out. Once out, on top you will see a large round section with hoses and an electrical plug. Disconnect the electric, pay attention to where the rubber hoses go and remove them. Next, clean around the top of the tank so dirt doesn't get in the tank when you remove the pump. THere is a large retainer that you will need to tap loose with a screw driver and a hammar. Once that is removed, pull out the pump by removing the section that everything was attached to. Reverse the sequence to replace.
Let me know if you run into trouble.
