1996 Dodge Dakota exhaust system

I have two o2 sensors on my exhaust one before my catalatic converter and one in it, if I take my converter off and put the o2 sensor just in the exhaust pipe will it affect anything?

On OBD II vehicle, of which yours is one, YES, it will set a code for catalyst efficiency! The car will not know how much gas to give the injectors, so it will default to rich, meaning you will burn more GAS! And your check engine light will constantly flash!
