Air Conditioning problem
1996 Dodge Dakota Manual

I have a 96 Dodge Dakota, 2.5 L engine

My AC is Cycling. My truck blows cold air when RUNNING, but warm air when IDLE. The temperature reading from the vent at the coolest goes to 40 degrees F. However, when driving on the freeway at 60 mph the AC is at 75 degrees F.

When I put my gauge, the low side kicks in quickly to 55 psi and drops quickly to 35 psi. High side reading is 240-245 psi.

I also tried bypassing the low pressure switch and the high pressure switch but the AC Is still cycling. What is causing the cycling of this? Thanks

It's low on freon. Try recharging it and let me know if that helps.

IF the system is cycling too fast, then the cycle switch may be bad. Have you checked that?
