1996 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

the abs and brake light remains on checked the fuses for a blown fuse and dont see any fluid on ground from a leak

You need to have the computer scanned for diagnostic codes. Chances are there is a bad sensor.
