ware is the fuel filter found on the 1996 dodge dakota ive heard of 2 one in the tank and one somplace on the actual lines first is their really two? second ware exactly are they found?

Its in the fuel tank

The combination fuel filter and pressure regulator is pressed into the rubber grommet on top of the fuel pump module.

Drain and remove fuel tank as outlined in Fuel Pump Replacement. Fuel pump does not have to be removed from tank.
Twisting fuel filter/regulator and pull straight up.
