1994 Dodge Dakota transmission trouble

Hi, when I drive my car in the drive gear it drives for a while and then does not continue to drive. If I stop and shut the car off and turn it back on it works again for a couple minutes. Do I need a new transmission or do I need is it computer related?

It could be that it is bad or a bad TCM. Has the check engine light come on? On your truck, you can check it yourself to see if there are any code.

Also, is the trans fluid clean and full?
