1993 Dodge Dakota Speedometer, odometer and tripometer quit

my speedometer quit working after i hit a rather large bump. Before that I had noticed the needle seemed "loose" for lack of better terms. When I would hit a bump, the needle would bounce within about 5-10 mph of my actual speed.
Now that the speedometer has quit, the odometer and tripometer won't roll anymore miles.
Please help!

On a truck like yours its a small sensor that drives it by providing output information of the transmission to the PCM so its probably the speedo itself, it is replaceable, but we use a tester to check all three things out plus the wiring, but the way your describing it is like the meter in your dash is bad.
The vehicle speed sensor mounts on the end of the transmission and it signals the engine PCM, this is the speed and odometer memory and can be scanned for codes and monitered to isolate the exact problem.

Hmm, I would swap out the vehicle speed sensor which sounds like it went out. It is located at the rear of the transmission, two wire sensor. Here is the location in the images below.
