my tranny wont shift gears with the clutch pushed in and the engine running. I can shut it off and change gears. The clutch seems the same as always but when its depressed it doesnt seem to seperate the motor and trans completely

You have one of two problems. Either the pressure plate is bad or the slave cylender is bad.
