1992 Dodge Dakota timing

1992 Dodge Dakota V8

I need to know where to set the timing marks so i can use a timing gun. When the truck starts it runs fine but when you start to drive it will just die. I am going to check for play in the rotor to see if it is the drive gear or bushing block. Please help if you can.

After it dies does it start back up it take time for it to fire back up !??
check it for tune up
check ASD Relay and fuel pressure
check it for spark
