My Dakota won't go into park or back into neutral. Give me some ideas. I have had a steering bushing problem in the past, is there a possibility this could be the problem.

you mean the gear selector will not move or the transmission is not shifting into those gears? make sure your brake light switch is working properly as it is part of the shift interlock system.
