Where is the starter located. Can I repair it myself? The Auto-Shop is trying to charge me 401.30 to replace the starter. Starters at e-Bay are as low as 25.00. What does a brand new unused starter cost. I feel like there taking me for a ride.

The starter is on the driver's side of the engine below the exhaust manifold. It is held in by two bolts. THey can be hard to get to. The best way is through the inner fender. Just make sure to disconnect the battery before working on it.

Let me know if you have other questions. As far as the price, at a parts store, you should be able to get one for around 100.00.
