while i was driving down the road today my car decided to overheat on me and blow antifreeze everywhere, i have never had this problem before, but before today the water temperature would always go up when i was at an idle, then the electric fan would kick on and go back down, then go back up and the same over and over till i got moving at a steady high rpm. I'm not 100% sure what to do at this point i thought it was a faulty thermostat so i decided to replace it. then i put the antifreeze back to the normal levels and left the atifreeze pressure cap off. and i started it ran for about 5 seconds, then died. What is my next step in trying to get it to run normal? Please help!

Probably blown head gasket and/or warped head. Do compression test. Post results will advise
