Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Dodge Dakota 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

im a rookie, just so we all know.
ok, it seeps - looks like oil ? around the bolts there, and smokes a little bit- cuz the oil is hot on a running enjine.
looks like i could take off that cover there, replace a gasket, i could seal that up so it would not seep and smoke.
this issue is off to the side of the motor. the round air filter sits on top.
i probably will end up asking someone who knows what they are doing. i am brave enough to see if i could figure it out and solve it myself. that would be great confidence booster if you all taught me!!
in any case, thank you for your thoughts.

I think your talking about valve cover gaskets The very top of engine above spark plugs? if yes then remove air filter any cables hoses in way. Then unbolt cover scrape off old gasket replace. Do Not over tighten. Before you start take several pics
