when im driving my car at night the lights are really bright, but when i stop at a light they dim. i have changed the battery. also i have started the car and removed the battery cables to check the alternator. it stays running but the engine acts like its trying to cut its self off. it shakes really bad and my wipers come on. whats the best thing i can do to figure out my power problem?

Hi:
Have the alternator and regulator checked under a load. Something is telling me it can't keep up with the demand.

Let me know what you find.
