It just started 2 days ago. The Check engine light is on steady now. I've checked and cleaned the spark plugs, air filter and oils. All is OK.

Then I took it to the mechanics at Canadian Tire and and $50.00 later they can't even diagnose the problem. They are asuming some codes, but they can't even locate the computer module. They rised the idle so I can drive it. Next morning - it was very hard to start.
However, the car almost won't crank start when is cold. It runs haistilly on low idle, till it warms up more. Then it is running OK. However, the engine light stays on all the time! The manual says: Check exhaust system..? Any ideas please. Where do I start?

Thanks. Michael.

Hi:
Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for you. Most will do it for free. Next, if they want you to check the exhaust, look for damage that would restrict flow, and listen to see if the converter sounds partially plugged or loose inside.

Let me know what you find.
