Will 1987(same model) carb fit my 1986? How difficult to rebuild 1986 carb? What other parts should be replaced at the same time carb is replaced? Any suggestions? (short of scrapping!)?

Rebuilding Carburetors is not easy, and requires special solvents and tanks, small tools to clean ports, and compressed air, Some are mor diffuclt than others, and you need the info on the carb tag to get the right kit. You can however buy remanufactured, or if you can find it, a used one. If the info tags on the two carbs you have match, you can use it, I recommend a new base plate gasket!
