1981 Dodge Charger V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

'81 Dodge Ram Charger stalls. Have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, brake calibers, hoses, belts, plugs. It stalls after 5-10 miles of driving, has to cool down and will stall again after that. We've tried just about every major repair. Loses power after it stalls. Acts like a fuel delivery problem, but cannot pinpoint it. Grrrr....

I think i sent an answer to this yesterday. If you think you have a fuel problem, you have repplaced alot of the system and still have it. You probably are going to need a carb rebuild. Thealcohol eats up the old accerator pumps and plastic floats in the carb if it has it. Almost all the fuel today has alcohol in it and the older models don't like that on their old products. Most of the stuff today is made with viton to stop the effects of alcohol. Also check the gap in your pickup coil in the distributor. YOu'll need a non magnetic feeler guage for that, and it should .008-.010"
