Windshield wiper growl

1996 Dodge Grand Caravan, 115,000 miles, 4cyl. The windshield wipers make a growling sound with each swipe. It's hard to tell if the sound is coming from the glass or under the hood.

If it only happens when the wipers wipe, it's a safe bet the motor is on the way south.
