I have a 03 dodge grand caravan with about 110k on it. It's all wheel drive and 3.8L. For the past two months I have been having a hard time starting it. It seems to happen mostly when the engine is cold or has been sitting for a few hours. Some times it starts and it sounds like it wants to crank and other times it just won't do anything. I get a don.E and a tripP 168.4 code where the trip odometer reading is. I have changed the ignition coil pack, starter relay and battery. (battery had a slight bulge on the side) The car has been in two front end accidents. Both occuring on the front left side. As for the engine, the dodge dealers changed the main computer chip after the first accident because the car wouldn't start. Other then that, the rest was body damage. Thank you so much

Thank you l_bourgon for your help. I couldn't find those codes in the book at all. My husband just changed the battery thinking that would solve our intermittent starting problem. Once installed we tried to crank it up and still the van wouldn't start. That is when I got the new code P168.4. It was displayed after the don.E code. My husband then took out the starter and we took it to get tested and it tested good. So he decided to clean the connector that connects to it and for the past 4 days we haven't had any problems. I like coming to this forum. I guess just knowing that we aren't the only ones with car problems then that helps. However, I read on how to do the trip odometer test and I did that first thing this morning. I got codes 100.1, 100.3, 100.4, 100.5, 100.6, & 400.1. I looked them up and don't understanding what it means. My husband is a shift worker so he sleeps during the day. I try to get as much info as possible so he can get our once reliable van to keep working. I am sad to say that I know nothing about cars but I am learning and trying. I truly do appreciate all and every ones help. Just reading the others questions have helped me alot. Agailn, thanks soo much.
