2008 Dodge Caravan Front Wheel Drive Automatic 70,000 miles

We were in a storm and we heard a loud pop and the car died but it started back up we made it home but it would start up again, all the light on the dash broad can on and stayed on. We bough a new batterey but did not help.

Have you checked for spark and fuel to the engine?
