I had the van 2 weeks, had no problems. One night while in stop and go traffic and just cruising not driving, the van would not stop and I plowed into the Toyota Tundra in front of me. I assumed that I didn't apply the brake soon enough. $6000 damage to the front. However, I've had the van back only a week and 3 times now the van will not stop. Once the brake pedal seemed as though it was "bouncing" back, and this morning, no matter how hard I pressed I still sailed right through an intersection. The brakes are also squealing. Midas says all brakes and pads are perfect and need no maintenance. What's up?

Hi:
From your description, it sounds like the ABS is kicking in and regardless of how hard you push the brakes, they refuse to respond. Did you purchase the van from a dealer? Also, at 33K the ABS is still under warranty. Considering it already caused a accident, and now it is happening again, a dealer should look at it and determine the problem (under warranty). Also, explain what you have gone through and if they can't be fixed, you want Chrysler involved. They get 3 chances to fix the problem. If they can't, it falls under the lemon law and Chrysler may have to replace it.

Let me know how it goes for you.
