My car makes a whining noise when I first turn the engine on and continues whining whenever I accelerate (sounds like I am driving a sports car where I can hear the engine rev). The sound dies down after the engine has warmed up. What is causing this noise? Do I need to have it attended to?

Make sure that your transmission fluid level is where it is supposed to be. I would also suggest that you let the engine/transmission warm up before you start driving every morning.

Also make sure that you use ATF+4 if you need to add fluid to the transmission.
