Engine Cooling problem
2006 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

rad. cooling fans come on (after van is shut off) and run for a couple of minutes intermitently until battery is dead. antifreeze level is good and engine is not running hot

Hi, I'd have the trouble codes checked. See if anything shows up? Some of the national brand autostores used to check codes for free. Some possibilities, fan relay--coolant temp sensor--pcm-- wiring circuit. With the key off, If you unplug the fan or pull the relay, It shouldn't run the battery down. You should make the fan operable before driving.
