Noises problem
2006 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 93, ooo miles

my lifters are clicking like a sewing machine. I put some rislone in and let the engine run for an hour and I still have noise, and the oil is newly changed before I added the rislone, is there anything else I can do besides have the mechanic charge me $1500 or more

Hi:
There really isn't anything else to do other than have the lifters adjusted or replaced. However, if your engine is a 3.3L, have the mechanic check the heads (rear one in particular) for broken rocker towers. There were a bad run on a few of them.

I was told t run the van for a couple of days and see what happens and the rislone should work. If not will running the van hurt me more in the long run, or can I just run and wait till I have money to replace the lifters

Hi:
It's hard for me to say because I'm not there to actually hear how bad they are. It they are'nt too bad, it shouldn't hurt but I don't want to say.

Listen, I don't think it would cost much, so take the van to a mechanic and have them check the oil pressure with a gauge. If the pressure is good, I'll feel a lot better. You should have around 10 PSI at idle and increase with RPM's. It should max at around 60 PSI.

Let me know what you find.
