2005 Dodge Caravan trans light came on

it started skipping 2 days before the light came on and have not driven it since. checked the fluid and it is over full.. is that the problem??

Two things. First remove the extra fluid from the trans. That may be part of the cause. Also, if the light came on, have the computer scanned for codes.
